I’ve been waiting my whole life for this baby! I love it. It’s a clean, elegant design which will now become a centerpiece to my livingroom. And I don’t even watch TV!

After reading all these great reviews, I decided to buy this TV. It was shipped to my home today. The shipping people helped me to put the TV together, which is efficient and nice. But I don’t know why, the picture looks really blurred. It looks like from a really old TV. I think it’s probably my problem. I probably didn’t set up things right. Can someone leave a comment to help me? I use Time Warner Cable. I didn’t use the HD program, but still it should look ok, right? Or it will look bad if I don’t use HD program?

Bought a new Sony KDL-40S4100 TV from Video & Audio Center thru Amazon in Dec.’08 at $897.97 with free shipping and no tax. It was the cheapest on-line. Video & Audio Center has a good on-line rating. I’m still worrying about getting a refurbish unit. When I got the unit, I can tell the original sealed tape has been cut and re-sealed with clear tape. Inside the box, 2 styrofoam corner paddings were broken. It indicated that the TV has been taken out before. I can’t tell if this is an refurbish unit or new unit. The TV works basically. I have to spend the next 2 weeks verifying all control and functions.

This Sony TV was a total disappointment. It arrived promptly with Amazon”s “white glove” delivery. I had some problems setting up PIP. I called Sony tech support for help. The first techs I spoke with could not help with a solution. One had me boot and re-boot the TV and my DVR/Cable box. In the end, by the techs own admission, he broke my cable box.Comcast replaced the box, but the old one had shows and movies on it that I’ll never get to see. Then a few nights later I turned the TV on and got nothing but a black screen. I couldn’t bring up the menu or get a picture of any kind. It was dead. I had the TV in my possession for less then 2 weeks, and now it was broken. The other 2 TVs in my house are Sony’s, and have never given me a problem. That’s why I bought Sony. I thought I was buying a quality product. The TV was made in Mexico and I complaint to Sony about thier lack of quality control. Between Sony’s horrible tech support and the failure of the TV after less then 2 weeks I would not recommend buying this TV.

I purchased this TV and the price was good and the delivery was good too. The picture is clear. One complain I have is that it takes like 20 seconds to view the screen after I press the power button. I don’t know if it is because i do not have HD transmission but I doubt it because I have a 32″ Sharp Aquos and it takes just five seconds to display something on the screen. I may have to check with the Sony website.

In general i am satisfied but i dont think it should take 20 seconds to display something on the screen.
